It has been an immense honor to work with the amazing artists and contributors that have made our mission possible. Since its inception, Black Ball Projects (BBP) has been artist-run, micro-funded, and primarily a volunteer effort. Without our massive community of supporters - like you - nothing would have been possible. We are immensely proud and forever grateful for everything we have accomplished TOGETHER!

An extra special thank you goes out to our BBP neighbors. Alongside the partners, spouses, children, pets, and extended families of the BBP team. Thank you! - for all of the time and resources that we borrowed from you. Your loved-ones helped make Black Ball Projects a reality.  ️️️️️️️️️

Founded as an artist-run commercial gallery space in 2015 by Ana Wolovick, Jason Tomme and Harriet Salmon. BBP became a nonprofit in late 2018. In 2020, due to the Pandemic, BBP re-configured to be an online-only Arts Organization.

As a physical gallery from 2015-2019 we held 29 exhibitions, showing work from well over 200 different artists and collectives.

From 2020 to present day, BBP has operated as an online-only space; creating a total of 11 in-depth viewing rooms, many with fascinating artist talks.

In 2021 we began our Micro-grant program. Over the program's 5 year tenure we have been able to grant over $16,000- in stipends directly to artists. And every semifinalist was also paid a $250- fee, for the labor involved in submitting the application.

In order to preserve the legacy of the BBP community, we will be making every effort to maintain an archive of our website and all its current contents to live on in perpetuity.  The BBP website and related media such as our Youtube channel will be managed privately and will not go dark, but may not reflect updates moving forward. 

Once again, we thank you for supporting Black Ball Projects over the years.  The legacy of your work and contributions has had a tremendous impact and has changed the lives of countless artists and those that love them.

Black Ball Projects’ mission has been to serve and support contemporary artists who are underexposed and who have been working diligently on the periphery of the greater art world. Diversity of all kinds, be it gender, racial, age, or economic, is at the core of the Black Ball Projects organization.
